Our founder, Doug left his hourly job at Hormel Foods, Rochelle and started a modest meat processing business. Doug and his family provided custom processing for farmers and families in the surrounding communities. Back then, the family processed beef, pork, and lamb selling retail to families, resturaunts, and local stores.
In 1994, the second generation took the helm and transitioned the business to exclusively wholesaling pork products and in 1995 became a USDA federally inspected facility expanding its reach throughout the US.
In 2016, the third generation jumped onboard to continue Spectrum’s growth while serving their customer’s needs. Over the years, Spectrum has continued to expand its facility and implemented automation in its production processes. Today our reach has expanded throughout the world in countries spanning the globe.
